North Central WV SHRM Members,
We hope this email finds everyone doing well in the new 2012 year and would like to extend a Happy New Year to all of our SHRM members. This month’s SHRM meeting is going to be a little different than our past meetings. In order to bring high level training to our members without having to spend thousands of dollars in presenter fees, we thought it would be a great value to offer a free webinar to be presented during our regular meeting. Therefore, this month’s meeting which is being sponsored by WesMar HR Consulting Group.
WesMar HR Consulting group, has arranged for this one hour free webinar to be presented during our regular meeting to be held at the Bridgeport Conference Center on Wednesday, January 11th, 2012 at 11:30am. The webinar should be completed by our usual adjournment time around 1:00pm.
The title of the program is "10 Common Hotline Concerns Every Employer Should Know the Answers To"
In this webinar, HR That Works president, Don Phin, will share answers in rapid-fire fashion to the ten most commonly asked hotline questions including:
- We have an employee who is sick a lot and, as a result, not performing up to standard and causing attendance issues. What can I do?
- We have an employee who has made an internal complaint of sexual harassment or discrimination. What should I do?
- An employee is claiming they are due overtime. Do we have to pay it?
- What can I find out about an employee’s medical condition before I hire them?
- What can I do with an older employee who is under-performing?
- Can I fire somebody?
- Can I terminate an employee who refuses a light duty assignment?
- What rights do I have to monitor an employee’s email?
- I think an employee has been stealing or embezzling from us. What can I do?
- What can I do if I suspect an employee is high or intoxicated while at work?
We appreciate you taking out time of your busy schedule and look forward to seeing you there. Please RSVP to Stacia Martin at smartin@farmontfcu.com . If you have special dietary needs, please let us know 48 hours prior to the meeting. Thanks!
